Let your state representative know you want to ReEnergize Michigan!

Investing in clean energy is essential to rebuilding Michigan’s tanking economy. We need to position our state to take the lead on clean, alternative energy technologies that would create thousands of new jobs in the wind, solar, and construction sectors for our already skilled workers.

At press conferences across the state, the Re-Energize Michigan! Coalition stood with 20 state representatives to announce the new platform that will accelerate the state’s investments in clean, alternative energy and efficiency and create jobs for Michigan’s hard workers.

The plan is a good one and will work to help move Michigan forward by:

• Creating powerful incentives for clean, alternative energy production and manufacturing;
  
• Encouraging immediate investment in clean, alternative energy like wind and solar power;
  
• Making Michigan a leader in building “green”;
  
• Maximizing investments in energy efficiency, saving money and creating thousands of skilled jobs; and
  
• Creating incentives for biofuels and advanced battery production.

It will also protect Michigan residents through legislation that would:

• Prohibit home foreclosures due to energy bill non-payment;
  
• Prohibit complete electricity shut-offs for vulnerable populations; and
  
• Fully invest in low-income home weatherization projects.
